vintage japanese book wrappers

i found a great book about vintage japanese bookshop graphics.  it doesn't get much more bookish than that.  in japan bookstores will often put a paper wrapper on a book title when you buy it.  just in a few deft moves while you're fishing in your purse for money the cashier will have wrapped it around and folded it to size.  people seem to like having privacy about what they're reading whilst in public and bookstores use it to promote their name.  a part of the strong distinction between the inside and the outside that exists in japanese culture, maybe.  here are a few vintage book wrappers from the book.
