jim hodges in the studio
i got sucked or i fell into the website of dieu donne papermill this afternoon. i actually interned here years ago. i was in the paper making studio once a week and mostly i just hosed off felts but i do remember highly skilled people making very beautiful things in close proximity.
one day there was this massive thick wet sheet of paper just sitting there looking edible like coconut ice, waiting for the pink layer. delicious.
their website has this great catalog of images of all the artists who've done residencies there including some great 'in the studio' shots.
i want to do some paper pulp painting now.
